Location: Acoma, New Mexico
Time Commitment: 40 hours per week on a Monday-Friday, 8am to 4:30pm schedule
Start Date: June 1, 2024

Minimum Qualifications:

- CV and/or Resume showing at least 3 years of pharmacy experience
- A current, valid, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification from the United States, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States
- Diploma from accredited college/university
- Documentation of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Confirmation that candidate is willing to adhere to vaccination requirements for U.S. government contractors or that candidate is eligible for a medical or religious exemption (COVID vaccination is not required but all other standard immunizations are included in the Indian Health Service’s immunization policy)
Job Description:
- Serve patients (pediatric to geriatric) in outpatient pharmacy.
- Follow directions from Pharmacy Director for various tasks.
- Answer phones, manage refills, and assist patients with refills.
- Fill prescriptions accurately and assist pharmacists.
- Operate and maintain medication dispensing systems (ScriptPro, Pyxis).
- Dispense verified medications and offer curbside delivery.
- Manage inventory (ordering, stocking, returns, expirations).
- Work with interpreters for patients with limited English.

The Indian Health Service (IHS) is the federal agency responsible for healthcare delivery to federally recognized tribes. The Acoma-Canoncito-Laguna Indian Health Center (ACL IHC) is part of the IHS Albuquerque Area Office and serves the Acoma Pueblo tribe in New Mexico. ACL IHC provides comprehensive outpatient care, with pharmacy services being a vital part of their mission.
